I melt some lard, duck or goose fat in a pan, add the seeds, leave it to cool a bit, then pour the mixture into an old yoghurt pot, or similar. Pop it in the fridge overnight, then dip it in hot water for a few seconds to allow the contents to come out. Put this on the bird table and the birds will go crazy for it. It has the added bonus of keeping the little critters warm in the cold winter months too, from the fat, you see.
